Garry Laxdal is from Calgary. He has successfully battled rectal cancer from six years ago. Garry is now a Patient Advisor with the Surgical Strategic Clinical Network with Alberta Health Services.

He is also the Co-Chair of the Patient Engagement Reference Group within AHS as well. Garry has had the privilege of speaking for Enhanced Recovery After Surgery and the benefits of practicing Mindfulness at several conferences. Garry is a former owner of a technology company with offices throughout Western Canada and is now employed by Telus.
