Assistant Professor of Pediatric Anesthesiology

Dr. Jessica Anne George is an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins University, where she is also Medical Director of the Pediatric Enhanced Recovery After Surgery program for the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine. Last fall, she was elected to the ERASPediatrics Board of Directors. She earned her medical degree from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed her Anesthesiology residency at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. She continued her training with a Pediatric Anesthesiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. While working as a Pediatric Anesthesiologist, she obtained her Master of Education in the Health Professions and has played an active role in the training of Anesthesiology residents and fellows. She was the assistant director for the JHH pediatric anesthesiology fellowship for 2 years, then the associate director for the JHH anesthesiology residency for 3 years. Recently, she assumed the role as the Program Director for the Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. She has a passion for perioperative education of patients, parents, and health care professionals alike, and is ardent in her efforts to improve patient outcomes and decrease mortality and morbidity in the clinical environment.
